CTS Employees participate in Safety Day
Clyde Training Solutions’ employees paused their routine work duties for the day to participate in the Company’s quarterly Safety Day.
Safety Day provides all employees with the opportunity to reflect on emergency response protocols, either by direct participation of drills, evaluation of the scenarios, or via observation and de-brief sessions. The ‘practice what we preach’ format not only helps to keep skills sharp amongst the team, it also provides any opportunity to improve how CTS respond to an unscripted event.
In addition, presentations and speeches from internal and external speakers were delivered to give employees an insight into the strategic direction of the business and educate further on relevant safety-themed topics.
Employees were encouraged to ask questions and provide welcomed feedback on operations as well as give their input on the future of the business.
Jack Baker, Survival Instructor, said: “I think safety days are a great way for the team to reset and refocus on what we trying to archive at CTS.
“We get talks from industry experts to share their experiences of various sectors we serve and make sure that our instructors can pass on this information to those we teach.
“We talk through and perform drills and exercises on potential incidents, which could occur during training, to ensure delegate safety and wellbeing at all times.
“It helps everyone but ensures we work together as a team to solve any problems we might face, so we can perform to our best for those that we teach.”
Kris McDonald, General Manager, Clyde Training Solutions: “As an organisation which provides immersive training services to high-risk industries, we wanted to establish and maintain a safe working culture that our customers and clients admire.
“This is especially true when we are entrusted to train workforces to a high standard, which ultimately results in a safer workforce.
“Part of this commitment is the quarterly Safety Day initiative.
“Standing down daily CTS operations to take a step back, review and openly discuss HSEQ and business performance, practice emergency response drills, and invite guest speakers are key components of the day.
“I firmly believe Safety Day reflects our ‘Competency Beyond Compliance’ ethos and sets us apart within the training industry.
“I look forward to how Safety Day evolves over the years, and the continued engagement of all internal staff and external guest speakers.”
