For anyone thinking of a career in the UK offshore oil and gas industry, or re-entering after a prolonged absence, this option is for you. This package provides you with all the basic safety elements required.

The combination of both e-learning, and onsite training at our premier training centre, this package provides you with all of the basic safety elements required.

• OPITO Digital BOSIET with CA-EBS
• OPITO MIST (MINIMUM INDUSTRY SAFETY TRAINING)
• SHOULDER WIDTH MEASUREMENT

Note: You will require to complete the e-learning portion prior to booking your practical day at CTS. Full guidance will be given as part of you course joining instructions.

The one-day practical session for this particular package operate on the last two Wednesdays of each calendar month.

Course Content:

OPITO Digital BOSIET with CA-EBS

The OPITO approved BOSIET training course with CA-EBS (Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System), provides delegates with a range of knowledge and skills relevant to traveling offshore by helicopter and working offshore. The course covers 4 main areas:

• Safety Induction Training
• Firefighting and Self Rescue Training
• Sea Survival with First Aid Training
• Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (CA-EBS)

This online BOSIET course has been specifically designed to meet the Aviation Regulation requirements in the UK/North Sea.

OPITO MIST (MINIMUM INDUSTRY SAFETY TRAINING)

The aim of the MIST (Minimum Industry Safety Training Standard) course is to introduce delegates who intend to work within the oil and gas industry, to the key safety elements outlined in the OPITO standard.

SHOULDER WIDTH MEASUREMENT

Guidelines state that all passengers travelling to North Sea Installations are required to sit in a seat where the nearest Push-out emergency exit window is compatible with their body size, and a helicopter Bideltoid measurement service – commonly known as ‘Shoulder Width Measurement‘ – is required to make this assessment.

Entry Requirements:

Pre-Digital content

There are no formal pre-requisites required to enrol onto the digital content. All digital content must be completed within 90 days of purchase/registration.

Pre-Practical content

All digital content must be completed in its entirety prior to the commencement of the practical training.

All delegates are required to hold a full OEUK offshore medical and an OEUK ‘Fit to Train’ / ‘Non Fit to Train’ certificate.

Evidence of these documents will need to be produced on the day of training at CTS.

For those learners who still need to obtain an OEUK Medical and/or Fit to Train certificate, you can visit our Medical Certification page to book one with our Glasgow based partners, GP Matters.

Alternatively, a valid and unrestricted ENG1 ‘medical fitness certificate to work at sea’ may be produced on the day of BOSIET training.

Certification(s):

Delegates are issued with OPITO approved BOSIET with CA-EBS, OPITO MIST, and a Shoulder Width Measurement certificate upon completion of all elements.
