GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Package – Offshore

GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Package – Offshore
GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Package – Offshore – Overview:
The GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Package – Offshore Focus – has been developed to encompass the five main training modules required for working within the renewables sector from BOTH an offshore and onshore perspective.
This is an entry level package for those about to begin work in the onshore or offshore wind turbine sector, or who require to re-sit these elements having let them lapse for more than a two year period.
For those who require refresher training covering all 5 elements, we also provide:
For those who require our Onshore Only training packages without Sea Survival:
Course Content:
This GWO approved course (Global Wind Organisation – the Renewables Industry standard), contains the following five elements:
GWO Sea Survival Training
The aim of the GWO Sea Survival Training element is, by theoretical and practical training to give the participants the basic knowledge and skills to act safely and take the correct preventive actions in all aspects of offshore operations from shore to installation vessel or WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) and vice versa, both during normal operation and in an emergency in an offshore wind energy environment.
Visit our GWO Sea Survival Training course page to find out more.
GWO Working at Height Training
The aim of this Basic Safety Training (BST) Working at Height course is to qualify the participants, through theoretical and practical training, to use basic personal protective equipment and perform safe work at heights and safe and comprehensive basic rescue from heights in a remote wind turbine environment within the GWO Renewables sector.
Visit our GWO Working at Height & Manual Handling Training course page to find out more.
Note: This W@H course is not designed to test the participant’s capability and aptitude for working at height, i.e. it is not a test for fear of heights.
GWO Manual Handling Training
The aim of the GWO Manual Handling Training module is to encourage positive manual handling behaviour and train delegates to perform manual handling tasks in a safe manner in the wind turbine industry/environment.
Visit our GWO Working at Height & Manual Handling Training course page to find out more.
GWO Fire Awareness Training
The aim of the GWO Fire Awareness Training element is to give the delegates the basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training to prevent fires, conduct initial and appropriate judgement when evaluating a fire, manage evacuation of personnel to ensure all are safely evacuated and accounted for in the event of an unmanageable fire and, if it is judged to be safe, to efficiently extinguish an initial fire by using basic handheld firefighting equipment.
Visit our GWO Fire Awareness Training course page to find out more.
GWO Basic First Aid Training
The aim of the GWO First Aid Training element is to administer safe and effective first aid in the wind turbine industry/ WTG environment, through theoretical and practical training.
Visit our GWO First Aid Training course page to find out more.
Entry Requirements:
Candidates must be fit and able to complete all aspects of training.
Certification:
All successful delegates are issued with a GWO Approved Sea Survival / Working at Height / Manual Handling / Fire Awareness / First Aid certificates.
