GWO Initial Entry Training Package Courses Overview

At RelyOn Glasgow in Glasgow, Scotland, we provide both offshore safety training & onshore safety training for the wind and renewables sector.

Our GWO initial entry training packages are all based at our dedicated GWO training centre in Glasgow, the only one of its kind in Central Scotland. The state of the art facility offers multiple classrooms, dedicated deep-water pool, full fire training ground complete with training stack and Working at Height structures…ALL ON ONE SITE.

Our GWO certification training courses equip delegates with the knowledge and competencies needed to work safely in wind turbine and generator environments.

Renewables employees entering the sector for the first time require GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) certification courses or initial entry training before being able to work in the environments mentioned.

Both GWO training packages listed below contain essential training elements such as Sea Survival / Fire Awareness / Manual Handling / First Aid / Working at Height, tailored depending on whether you intend to work onshore or offshore:

GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Package Offshore – developed to encompass the five main training modules required for working within the renewables sector from BOTH an offshore and onshore perspective

GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Package Onshore – developed to encompass the four main training modules required for working within the renewables sector on a purely onshore basis

Opening in July 2016, RelyOn Glasgow has quickly grown to become the central belt’s largest provider of marine, offshore and renewables safety training.

There are fantastic rail, road and air links to our GWO training centre in Clydebank, on the outskirts of Glasgow. Making us the premier choice for GWO training courses in Scotland.

GWO – or Global Wind Organisation to give it its full name – standards are created by the industry, for the industry. Members are globally leading turbine manufacturers and owners, representing the majority of installed wind energy capacity around the world.

Through adherence to these globally recognised standards, we can share risk information and expertise to create training standards that improve safety and build a competent workforce.
