STCW Revalidation Training Route 2 (block)

Fire Fighting, STCW 2010 Approved Maritime Training, STCW 2010 Refresher

STCW 2010 Manila Amendments have introduced a number of changes to the STCW Convention which has resulted in new training requirements for seafarers. One of the key changes is that seafarers are now required to provide evidence of having maintained the required standard of competence every 5 years in order to undertake their tasks, duties and responsibilities regarding emergency, occupational safety and survival functions.

If you are serving on board a ship and are qualified in any of the following you are now required to have documentary evidence of either completing the basic safety training or updating training within the last 5 years.

Route 2 of the required STCW revalidation training is completed over a 4 day block and includes:

  • Updated Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques – full day
  • Updated Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats – full day
  • Updated Proficiency in Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention – full day
  • Updated Proficiency in Advanced Fire Fighting – full day

NOTE – STCW Revalidation Training Route 2 should be undertaken by delegates who are unable to complete self-certificates relating to ongoing training. Delegates who have not completed onboard training are required to complete 4 full days of shore-based training rather than the Route 1, 3 half days and 1 full day for Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention. Please contact us by telephone if you require further clarification before booking.
