OEUK Medical & Fit to Train Certification

OEUK Medical & Fit to Train Certification
Overview
For UK waters and the North Sea, all offshore employees are required to undertake and pass an Offshore Energies UK (OEUK, formerly known as OGUK) Offshore Medical.
In addition, anyone undertaking the OPITO BOSIET, FOET or HUET courses (which includes in-water training with the CA-EBS) are required to provide a “Fit to Train” certificate.
These examinations and resulting certifications must be conducted by physicians who are approved by the Offshore Energies UK Health Advisory Committee.
The OEUK Medical (or offshore medical certificate as it is commonly known), requires renewal every 2 years irrespective of the age of the offshore worker. Individual operators retain the right to request medical assessments more frequently.
The expiry date on the OEUK Fit to Train medical certificate is 4 years, however individuals are advised to retake the assessment prior to their next refresher training should there be a change to their medical circumstance.
