LNG Tanker Operations – Management Level SIGTTO (LICOS Membrane)
Course Overview:
This course follows the syllabus set out by SIGTTO in their suggested LNG competence standard at the management level. It is approved by BV as meeting the requirements of the SIGTTO suggested LNG competence standard.
The course follows the cycle of operations from leaving drydock to in service loading discharging Cargo Conditioning and return to Drydock and includes the wider range of subjects set out in the SIGTTO syllabus.

Course Content:
The simulator provides:
- Familiarisation with the equipment
- Familiarisation with the cargo system
- Cargo handling procedure training
- Refresher training for experienced cargo officers
- Training of normal and extreme stress situations under realistic cargo handling conditions
- Training of normal and emergency procedures within the entire cargo handling range
- Command and crew integration during complex cargo handling procedures
- Training completely independent of actual tanker and environmental conditions
Entry Requirements:
Best suited to those who already have some LNG experience, this course follows the syllabus set out by SIGTTO in their suggested LNG competence standard.
3 months’ service on an LNG tanker as a competent officer and hold a Tanker Endorsement (Liquefied Gas) or equivalent.
Certification(s):
Upon successful completion, delegates will be issued with a Bureau Veritas approved Certification ‘SIGTTO LNG Membrane Liquid Cargo Operations Simulator Course’.
