Basic Safety Training
STCW 2010 Approved Maritime Training, Fire Fighting
BASIC SAFETY TRAINING COURSE OVERVIEW:
Basic Safety Training is the standard emergency, safety and survival training which is compulsory for anyone working at sea whether it's on board a cruise liner or ship. Here are the 4 courses which make up the minimum basic safety training:
- STCW Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention
- STCW Personal Survival Techniques
- STCW Elementary First Aid
- STCW Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities
Our courses can be provided individually or as a block booking - whatever suits your specific needs. If you prefer to do them all in one go we offer a 5 day STCW Basic Safety Training course which covers all 4 elements.
The learner must be at least 16 years of age to complete the Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques course. In exceptional circumstances where a learner is physically fit, they may be able to complete the training course prior to their 16th birthday. In this case, we would request that candidates hold a UK ENG1 medical certificate or equivalent as an indicator of fitness. Parts of the course are of a physical nature so you need to complete a Medical Self Declaration Form prior to the start of the training.
